  • About Our Co-Op Program:

    Valuable, real-world experience working with world-leading scientists and engineers is waiting for you as a Jefferson Lab Co-Op student. Students are partnered with an assigned mentor and participate in hands-on projects while earning academic credit during their tenure at the Lab. A student’s work performance is shared with his/her College/University at the end of the work term and culminates in a project presentation.

  • High School Student Intern Program

    The Student Aide Program is a work/study program for high school students. It is separate from the existing Student Internship program, which is geared to undergraduate and graduate students, and the Summer Honors Internship Program (SHIP).

    Candidates for the program must have completed the sophomore year of high school, be at least 16 years of age, and be recommended by their school.

    Students must maintain at least a 2.5 GPA each semester.

    Students need to submit an up-to-date transcript at the end of each semester.

  • RETIREMENT: Teachers Insurance & Annuity Association/College Retirement Equities Fund (TIAA/CREF). JSA/JLab provides a 401(k) defined contribution plan that provides benefits through annuities. JSA/JLab will make a 9% base salary compensation contribution in lieu of a matching feature on the plan. The 9% contribution will be made by the Lab even if employees waive participation.

As Jefferson Lab’s associate director for theoretical and computational physics, most of his days are filled to the brim by attending meetings, reviewing papers and serving on the national and international advisory and review committees for funding agencies and various science programs.
