DEI Keynote 10.19.21 - Working Towards Making Equity Visible for Employees with Disabilities
Veleka Gatling, Ph.D., Director of Diversity at ODU, shared a presentation on how we can achieve visible equity for our employees with disabilities ultimately by treating them as they desire, not as we desire. We must listen to other’s stories and begin shifting our cultural perspectives to achieve acceptance and adaptation ultimately operationalizing inclusion. She encouraged all of us to be “Braver” Leaders by rumbling with vulnerability, living our values, building trust and learning to rise and reset. NEWPORT NEWS, VA – Three graduate students will receive support from the Department of Energy to conduct research at DOE’s Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility. The students have been granted supplemental research awards from the Office of Science Graduate Student Research Program.

have been honored by APSNEWPORT NEWS, VA – Two researchers affiliated with the U.S. Department of Energy’s Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility have been selected by their peers for the distinct honor of Fellow of the American Physical Society. The APS announced its 2021 Fellows on Oct. 13.
