Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology wins 23rd Virginia Regional High School Science Bowl competition
NEWPORT NEWS, VA – Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology continued their winning streak at the 23rd Virginia Regional High School Science Bowl competition on Feb. 3. The U.S. Department of Energy's Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility hosted the in-person event for the first time since 2020.

Injector and Front-End Test
-Waveguide connections to the first HPA have been done and klystrons are being installed.
-Plumbing for injector service building has been installed. LCW system operational.
-The approach has been defined for cryomodule installation sequence. First cryomodule slated to be installed by 7 September.

-First cryomodule is in the tunnel.
-Four klystrons have been installed in the first HPA.
-Copper cavities (chopper 1 & 2, capture section) have been installed on the injector girder as injector reassembly continues.
-Electronics have been reinstalled in high-voltage cage for the gun. First try to run gun from control room this week.

-Injector main pump and vacuum manifold installed.
-Fabrication of 5-MeV chicane vacuum chambers started on schedule at University of Illinois.
-Cables for injector magnets and controls pulled.
-First cryomodule has been mounted on its stands and cabling is proceeding.
